eBike Definition

bosch ebike what is an electric bike

What does eBike mean? It is the shortened version of the term ‘electric bike’. eBike is a snappier, more modern way of saying electric bike and can be used in place of electric bike in all cases.

Google defines ebike as: “a bike that can be powered by electricity as well as propelled by pedals.”

Wikipedia’s definition of ebike is: “An electric bicycle, also known as an e-bike, powerbike or booster bike, is a bicycle with an integrated electric motor which can be used for propulsion”

All of our ebikes are power assist, so they can only deliver power in addition to your pedalling power. This is cleverly achieved using speed, torque and cadence sensors to assess your current speed, pedal pressure and the number of pedal rovolutions and to deliver appropriate power in real time. These measurements are taken at about 1,000 per second so the power delivery feels smooth and ensures you do not experience a jerking surge of power when you pedal. Our favourite eBike system is the Bosch system which has evolved since 2010 to be the best all round motor, battery and control interface for electric bikes Internationally.

We have an ebike for every application at our Shoreham showroom in Sussex, please feel free to visit us or call us, details below.
